One recent winter morning, Court Bower, Graphic Designer at Seed Strategy, marched through the agency’s hallways clutching a claw
hammer and wearing a smile. Catching a glimpse of Ms. Bower’s unlikely choice of design tool as she passed by their doorways, her colleagues emerged from their offices
to inquire about her activities.
Today, she informed the small assembly, was the day the contractors were to break through the adjoining wall that separated Seed’s current office
space from its new wing. The foreman of the crew had graciously offered Ms. Bower his hammer to perform the honors. |

Laughing, she aimed the head at the center of wall and took a swing. Then another and another and another. With each hit, the drywall gave way with a chalky
thud until a jagged hole revealed the gutted interior on the other side.

“Heeeeerrrre’s Johnny!” said strategist Rad Wakefield, suggesting he run behind the wall to recreate Jack Nicholson’s
classic scene from “The Shining.”
“Or maybe we could reenact the ‘Walk This Way’ video,” offered writer Robert Cherry. “Who wants to play Run DMC?”
When completed, the new wing will include a new entrance and greeting area, four new offices, one additional conference room
and a large collaborative work area. |
The space will feature Seed’s trademark colors—muted green and purple—floor-to-ceiling windows, retractable opaque glass panels in the large
meeting area, modular furniture, and paintings by a local artist.
The expansion will help accommodate the agency’s rapid growth this past year, which includes the addition of Ms. Bower, Senior
Brand Strategist Scott Usitalo, and Project Directors Gretchen Mahan, Corey Beilstein and Jessica Peters.
Seed’s remodeled space, located at 7300 Turfway Rd. in Florence KY, is scheduled to open Jan. 3, 2007.
